Hello everyone!!! I need some help with my 79. The first issue is that for some reason my fuel pump cant get any fuel to the carb, its a brand new 'carter' pump. Whenever I drive the truck, the fuel filter is empty and merely bubbles as a little fuel manages to reach, but if I park her and wait 'till the next day the filter magicaly gets full without the truck being started ( if I drive it again, it empties the filter). BTW, it does it with the tank full or empty and i have stalled many times. Can anyone help?? ........ also, last night I opened the rear glass on my truck loaded her and closed the gate and when I turned the key to raise the window.... NOTHING. I checked the fuse on the ACC slot, its OK, turned the ignition on and used the dash switch and.. NOTHING. I cant figure out whats up. I now its the factory set-up and had never done this before.... please, can anyone give me a clue? I'll greatly appeciate it.

More than likely the line or pickup in the tank is clogged. You can disconnect both ends and blow out the line, be carefull when disconnecting the takn end, remove the cap to relieve any perssure and you still ma have some gas spillage.

If the line is clogged, I'd replace it, even if it blows clear. Make sure the tank vent is working, if not you get a negative pressure in the tank and you can not draw gas. Lastly, drop the tank and check the pickup and inside of the tank fo ***** (kind of a good possibility if that is the original tank).

Good luck,

:)>-

Thanks!!! I was worried about stalling the truck for a long time while the parts arrived so I went and bought one from JBG but they were not in stock 'till sept 15-17I called them and had it back ordered. Hopefully when its here I'll lower the tank and chek everything. I bought the sending unit, lock ring and seal, filler neck hoses and later, I'll get some new fuel line. I'd like to now.... anyone know any advise on the rear window problem? Thanks again for all the help!!!!
