My 4 spd died on me and I was wondering if someone can recommend or advise me on what to do. I have a T18 4spd. and was wondering if I should rebuild and install a the overdrive unit or upgrade to a NP435, or upgrade to a T19??? I not to techy. But I'm up for a chalange. Also willing to do it my self.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

You could swap to the NP435 or T-19 if you had one ready to drop in with the proper linkage for the t-case, but I would suggset rebuilding the T-18. The strength of all three is about equal, and none have overdrive. An 'upgrade' with overdrive would be a ZF-S42 or ZF-S47 5-spd manual, but you'd have to change the ***** cylinder and linkage for it. Plus the fact that a 4x4 ZF-series will run about $1000-$1200 salvage yard price vs about $200-$300 for any of the 4-speeds mentioned, JSM84
