Here's some photos of the 74 Bronco I just purchased.

Purchased for $1500 plus my non running 2 stroke 500 quadzilla. Seems like a good deal.

383 Stroker motor, NP435, D20, D44, B.B. 9", 4:56 gears, lockers, fiberglass front clip, 5.5" rancho lift :)) , 31's cause the guy sold the 36's, 6 point cage, dual exhause, dual batteries, 5 point harnesses.

Needs: paints, rims, 36" tires, bumpers, 5.5" long travel suspension, wristed radius arm and a few other details.

So you think I should build it up as a wheeler eh?

I have doors and a top which could really make it look sweet.

My idea is to make it a wheeler since thats what its built for now and would be cheaper to build up than a street queen.

I don't know how well a fiberglass front clip will hold up on the trees and rocks so I might end up selling it for profit when I'm done.

What do you think? door inserts, bikini top, 36's, long travel suspension?

Sounds fun but at the same time for resale a street rig might sell for more if its cherry. Then again with all the off road options it has could be worth quite a bit to. Finding someone to buy it like that could be a challenge. Here in Washington we only have 3-4 months of good weather. Doors and top are almost a must in the winter.

I would go "middle-road"..... I cleaned up 5 of 6 Broncos & 11 Landcruisers & sold them for a profit. I made them rugged but not rock busters. I set-um-up as complete as poss. & let the new owners do any mods as they see fit.

It all (metal & fib. glass) holds up well 'til it hits an "imoveable object."

LOL...aint that the god awful truth!!! b-(

I know a guy here in Colorado who owns a junk yard with close to 100 EBs in it and what he does is fix a few up and sells them. But then again, he has the means and the parts to do what ever he wants with them. I saw him this past weekend and he just bought a 74 w/ ps, disc fronts, ARB front w/4.09, 9" BB w/4.11, Detroit rear, seriously built 351w, and a brand new WH 5.5" lift in the back not even installed (the $1200 lift no less). The body is decent shape, has TONS of potential, very little rust, kind of the shape yours is in.

He got it for 2k and is going to "de-tune" the whole thing. He is going to put a 3" lift on it that he has, swap the entire front axle out w/a non locked and put an open carrier in the rear. Said he was going to ask about $3500 for it as a starter rig. Then he is going to sell the axles by themselves and ask around $1800 for the pair. So on his little $2000 investment, he is going to get $3300 profit. So, you could do something similar........

With a roof & doors that's a 4 to 5 thousand dollar rig here.$3000.00 fast. Throw a decent, basic light color on it and add $1500.00. They pull a bunch here.

You should have seen the 71 Bronco I looked at over the weekend for a friend thats wanting one. Guy was asking 11K so I had to look to make sure he doesn't get ripped. Yellow, no dents, winch, cage, soft top, door inserets, hurculiner, 4:56 gears with ARB's, 3.5" lift 2" body on 35's.

Looked nice outside and in but the body popped and tranny clanked all over, wandered and had brake pulls. We ditched out pretty fast. Some people think they can get anything if it looks good. Anyone can do that, its better to find a good runner and go from there.

If I do end up selling the one I'm building up its not going to be easy to let go. Mainly cause she's so damn fast!

Say what? Am I suposted to be working on the Bronco? Oops!

The project is going at 1/2 speed due to me tearing apart my 68 Bronco to put D60's under it. What a process! As I get sick of working on one I move to the other. I swapped the suspension out of my 68 with the wristed arm and put it all in the 74 so it flex's. Got the Cage arms with the weld on mounts to the axle. I'll post photos soon.
