I Just bought a 72 Bronco which is 98 percent stock. When I first got it the amp meter worked I think. At least it stayed in the middle so I assume it might be working. The fuel gauge worked 50 percent of the time on one tank, and never on the other. No temperature reading, and low oil pressure reading. My first attempt to remedy these quirks was to replace the gauge voltage meter. This made one of the fuel gauges work a little better, but that is about all. Today I tried to test the oil, and temp sending units by grounding them using a ***** to the engine block. The temp gauge slowly climbed to about 205, and the oil to about 90. Now none of the gauges register anything. Did I somehow fry the new voltagemeter? I have now replaced the oil pressure, and temp sending units and I still have no readings on any gauges.
Does anyone have any idea where I should proceed to next. I would like to keep everything stock so I would like to get what I have working. I don't really want to hook up a bunch of aftermarket gauges, even though I know it would be easier, and more accurate.
