have a 71 bronco fuel guage was not working put in a new sending unit from broncograveyard guage still does not work, pulled guage and saw one of the leads was broke soldered it back on reinstalled guage turn key on guage went over to full and peged out. i took a voltage reading at the guage and it was reading 12 volts, i read there was a constant voltage regulator that drop the voltage down to 6 volts for the instrument cluster is that correct, if the regulator is bad does it allow all 12 volts to come through. i saw one at broncograveyard for $31 hate to spend the money on it if thats not the problem
