2 wheel to 4 wheel

does anyone know how i need to go about doing this. it has a 4x4 light on the dash along with all the other lights i have looked and its NOT 4 wheel drive it does not have the front axels like a 4x4 does. so how do i turn it into 4 wheel drive??

the easiest way would be to get another Bronco II and change all of the parts out. The frames may be different between 2wd and 4wd, so it may not bolt in anyway. If you really want to tackle this, I would recomend finding a donar vehicle for the front end and transfer case, then do some measuring to see if the frame is the same, and if if will bolt in. Try to get the whole donar vehicle if you can, you always run into parts you still need. In the end, It is almost always easier to sell this one and buy a 4wd.

yeah well my truck is nice i do like it is has a new motor new tranny and a new clutch in it so i dont think im gonna sale it lol it only has 21,000 miles on this motor. and it runs like a champ. i took it mudding yesterday and didnt get stuck. infact i had to pull a 4x4 dodge ram charger out of a hole lol.. and we brought the rope to use on me haha

i was going to try and convert my 2x ranger to 4x its a whole lot of work, the frame doesnt have the bolting it needs, you would have to drill holes in the frame, possible but i wouldnt do it, my sisters ex was a mech at ford and i talked to him about it, he said it will never drive the same, be better off finding a 4x frame and just change your body on it

idk i think im gonna just leave it rear wheel and get another bronco thats 4x4 lol or something cause i dont wanna have to mess with all of that .. i think im gonna keep it the way it is since it only has 20000 miles on this motor. it should last a while

u need to change tranny drive shaft front sup there a braket for twin i beam u need off a 4x4 bronco 2 2 wd and 4 wd not same braket.

need harness for tranny ,, u may have the one for elec shift in dash but not the one from tranny to wire harness

front tranny whit coil spring and twin i beam all have to be change as one piece

best bet get 4x4

need to know what you're gear in back must b same as front if not or u need to change rear diff

done some 2 wd to 4 wd here alway's use donor cost less then buying parts separate
