1984 backstory and restoration

/emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I am a new user want to share my bronco story and ask a question of my fellow broncozone users.

My dad gave me money in 1985 and I picked up a very low mileage 84 bronco 351W XLT. I had to get rid of it in 1994. I regretted it every day since then. In 2000, I had a police friend track her down by VIN number which I found on an ancient insurance verification. We moved and I lost the address of the current owner. I found the address in early 2005 (five years later) and drove 2 hours. There was my baby. I dropped off my business card and the guy ended up selling it to me. I am now the proud 2nd and 5th owner of this beautiful rusty bronco. I asked my dad over for an Oklahoma State/Texas baseball game. When he got out of his truck he said "you bought you a bronco like your old one." I said no, "I bought my old one back." He was thrilled that managed to track it down and make right a mistake that I made a very long time ago. This vehicle will never be sold again. I'm the 5th and final owner.

Question: I am now starting a frame-up restoration and am looking for NOS interior parts. I need a dashcover, door panels, the panel over the passenger seatbelt, carpeting, and a new steering wheel/steering wheel cover. Also, I would like to track down the upholstery like the original. It has the blue tweedlike inserts on highback captain's chairs. An NOS console. All interior is blue in color with woodgrain. Where can I get stuff like this other than the obvious EBAY.

You say it is rusty...I have a 1984 body that I am getting rid of and the only rust is the normal tailgate rot...Interested for a very very cheap price? Let me know if you need any thing like this plus a top and complete frame...unmolested and unrusted. /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Great story!!! Sounds similar to my 84 Bronco, I'm the second owner. I've pulled out the entire interior and have many items that might be useful for low cost. You can send me a PM for more info and see the pics at my supermotors.org page in my profile.

You can look for used parts in good condition from fellow Bronco owners parting out a rig, get a few items from ebay, or get catalogs from the vendors such as Jeff's Bronco Graveyard, AutoKrafters, LMC Truck, Natl. Parts Depot, Year One and others. Most of the items for our pre-97 Fords are obsolete from Ford, so these guys sell repop or new parts. Very few will be NOS, as those items cost alot more. I got a ton of stuff from LMC Truck for my 84, and only a couple of items were in a Ford parts box. The rest were made overseas but looked very close to original such as the chrome headlight bezels and trim.

As Seabronc, said, post a few pictures of your Bronco in the image gallery. I'm currently working on my frame, rustproofing and painting it until I do an engine swap and custom axles and suspension. But it's hard to beat a stock Bronco in original or restored condition, not all chooped up like mine is getting to be. Good Luck, JSM84
