Got a new addition. Found an old man who wanted to get rid of his 69 bronco. He was getting a little loopy in the head and couldn't tell me all that was on the bronce when he bought it. i had a few questions about options that came on the vehicle. I was wondering if there is a way to find out what came on the vehicle as far as carpet or vinyl or color. Also had a question if the 69 came with power steering or power brakes as an option and where i can get them. as you can see it is very stock to the point that it still has the stock am radio in it. i am wanting to keep it this way as much as possible. Figure you can't go wrong with a factory stock bronco. any help that anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Brian

Look at your VIN tag & go to www.broncohio.com and use their VIN plate decoding. It might not tell you the colors of the vinyl, but it will give you the info for original color.

The 69 did not have any power accessories. PS didn't come into play until 73, and even then, it was only an option. The vacuum assisted brakes was about the same time. Disc brakes didn't come on the EB until 76, when they changed the front end steering set-up. With that in mind, you can put disc & power accessories on yours, and it is quite easy. There are aftermarket kits sold by the Bronco vendors (BC Broncos, Wild Horses & Tom's Bronco are my top 3 recommendations) for the disc set up. As for power steering, the best way to go so that it looks stock and doesn't require a lot of fabrication & drilling on your frame is to hold out until you find a 73-75 Bronco PS unit. That is a direct bolt up but you might have to get a new radiator because of the length of the box & the size of the radiator. On the power brakes, it depends on what you want to do. Do you want to use a vacuum assisted set up or do you want to go with hydraulic type brakes? Both are bolt on but the hydroboost requires you to have power steering. It is pretty easy to do either, just a matter of figuring out what you want to do with it.

Hope that helps and if you have questions about either brakes or steering additions, I will be happy to help as I did both to mine.

s bolt thanks for the info. i did the FORD disk brake upgrade and power brakes to my 75 and like it just wasn't sure if there was a factory setup. guess i will have to go with the modified setup. lucky enough i have a steering box that fits the years you said. am i going to have to do anything with the pitman arm? i appreciate all the help.

i do have another question for you. in regards to lights. ive started losing the lights on the front end of the vehicle and have no idea where to start. started out that with lights on had both head lights and one marker light but the other would work when you used it as a turn signal. then lost both markers but still had turns. and now i lost passenger side head light. and markers but have turns. i checked all the bulbs and they are all working. other then that im stumped. if you could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.

thanks

Brian

"..... I've started losing the lights on the front end of the vehicle"

Sounds like faulty ground connections. Voltmeter one/each in-operatiave bulb feed for 12V & ground.

"am i going to have to do anything with the pitman arm?"

No.., not likely, unless you're going to do a lift.

I like the look of stock with a little bit of lift and a little bigger tire. But since it is not uncut it can't be considered a factory stock. I would keep the interior stock and don't go to extreme with a lift since you are wanting to try and keep it as original as possible.

Clean looking truck bartow, but unfortunately, if it is the one pictured, it has been cut in the rear.

thanks s-bolt never thought that when some one cut a fender they would go that far. and like you said they did a good job. good enough to fool a vehicle appraiser today. o well weather its cut or not its a bronco and thats all that counts.

oleguy74 thanks for the info. may have to do that. origonal owner says he still has the sheet from when he bought it hopefully he can remember to dig it up before he forgets about it.

s-bolt bakc to the issue of lights gauged all the lights and getting power to them didn't do any tinkering and got one marker light back some how and the brights work on both headlights. so im stumped yet again

Your fenders really aren't cut that high. Mine are probably cut another 3-4" higher than yours are. Look in my album and you can see what mine looked like after I finished a rebuild on it 8 years ago. At the time of the picture, I had a 3.5" suspension lift with 31" tires. Soon after that picture was taken, I went with 33" tires.

Man, as far as electrical goes, I am pretty much a block head. Mechanical & all else, I can do that stuff no problem. But Electrical, I have a very difficult time with. I would say to check all the grounds on the thing. Especially the ones close to the light portion of the harness. See if SeaBronc here on the site can help you out. I think he knows a fair bit about electrical, or at least more than I do.
