Not much really in the way of upgrades.

We bought it for about $3500 it already had an upgraded sound system with a dealershipship mounted DVD player mounted in the headliner.

About $60 for a snorkel.

Repairs included MAP sensor and TPS. about $125

Dash mounted switch for the tailgate window. $30

I don't recall if my son put in an ignition module in this truck or the previous one.

We put a new fuel pump and relay. $200 - $300 installed

Otherwise anything else was maintanence from running the snot out of it.

Replaced tires, brakes a tie rod end or two, anti-sway bar bushings, plugs, cap, rotor, air filter(s), fuel filter.

So about $1300 over four years and two different trucks.

Lots of miles, and LOTS OF GAS!!! Lots of fun!

Mine was a frame off compete restore and I spared nothing if it looked good or I wanted it I got it so I can loosely add up $20,000 in my head but it is by no means stock and its something I always wanted so wasnt a big deal to me to spend the money . Would I do it again ? No :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

750 for the truck, 75 for the battery, 70 for the starter, 200 for the parts truck off ebay that i got the seats and the trans out of. 600 to put that trans in my truck, 300 for tires i got used. a few other odds and ends but more or less just over two thousand. which makes it that much more rewarding when i get to pull some guy out of being stuck with a 30 thousand dollar truck!! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

$5,000 for the truck - 96 bare bones - no power anything - dirt cheap interior - ran perfectly and had been maintained well - 85,000 miles. Bought it in early '07 - some body cancer that I'm chipping away at. Had I realized the extent, I would've waited for a diff. truck. Live and learn, eh?

About $600 into new springs all the way around. They're cargo springs so I saw about a 1.5" boost.

Realigned for $200.

About $600 into some 31 x tires.

About $150 into shocks.

About $120 into new warn premiums.

About $100 into my recent body work for materials.

I think I need a new battery soon. Anticipated $100. May as well bank on that.

$40 into new poly bushings.

I'm sure there's more if I think hard enough................

But it's reliable enough to be a daily driver and go across country if the need be without hesitation. I guess in the end its cheaper than a new truck and way more fun and cool than anything made today.

I just bought mine a few weeks back..stock 96 XLT..power everything, and everything works and is in great running shape. Does not need anything at this point except gas (which sucks..lol)

picked it up for $2750, then with tax, title, reg and insurance came in around 3300.

So far in mods I have spent about $500..that includes new CD Player to replace stock deck, new speakers all the way around to replace stock. blacked out heads and blinkers, paint and rhino lining material and bondo (and other body repair materials), and trailer hitch.

Also on the list, brush guard and lights, roof mounted light bar with lights.

Also got to find the time to repair the minor rust on the quarters and then I am rhino lining the body up to mid line. Oh, and blacking out the tails and painting the top flat black to match the rhino lining on the body.

So all in so far I am at about 3800 with another 4-500 to go...that is until I get the lift bug and jack it up with a set of 35-38 inch tires...lol

I picked up my 91EB edition for 800 bucks. The darn thing was stuck in 4x4 low so the owner let it go cheap. Dropped 75 bucks for a new push button 4 wheel engage switch, 120 dollars in a new T-case electric shift motor, 10 bucks on the custom speaker grills...a few hundred for the system (bought off a friend used...but was an infinity pushing from a kenwod head unit).

Thre in some deatails like Ford utility floormats...a chrome exhaust tip....tons of cleaners...obviouosly fluids...a steering wrap...seat covers (dont want mud everywhere). So ya I would say around 1500 bucks total. Then I sold it though and I am working on a 1990 which I am hoping to get rid of and pick up another beautiful 91 that needs a TON of work under the hood. Check out the motor swap topic if you want more infoo!

Lets see i picked up my '86 for 700 which in my book was a steal very little body rust and in really good shape saved it from a scrap heap dont know why any one would want to scrap something so nice as that but they did. since owning it i have put:

New Stainless steel gas tank 33 gal.- 100

New Sending unit and low pressure pump( in tank)- 100

New High pressure fuel pump ( on frame rail)- 100

New Inline fuel filter- 10

New Fuel pressure regulator- 30

New Starter Seliniod- 10

Bondo Kit- 30

New Ignition module- 30

New TP sensor- 30

Necessary fluids and filters- 50

Towing cost after first break down- 80

Gas going here there and everywhere to get parts- astronomical

All the banged up knuckles, scraped arms, sweat, blood, and tears- priceless

so total including the price of the vehicle with tags and everything i would say bout 1400 or so which i dont think is too bad saying i paid more than that for the beater car i drive everyday lol but all in all it is 100% worth every cent that i put in it from here to eternity and to think i was almost to the point of scrapping it myself but took one look at it and just could not part with it had to try my damnest first to get her running which i finally did time and patience pays off in the end to be able to go out and just jump in and take off love every second of it

Happy Muddin!!!!!!!!!

I paid $6500 for it after tax tags and all that fun stuff.

I have so far spent the following:

$1,200 for 5 BFG AT K/O 32x11.50r15

$100 for matching factory spare

$3,500 for new e40D and transcooler

$300 for all new bushings

$300+/- for new manual hubs and conversion kit

and lastly... WAY TO MUCH IN GAS! Currently $130.00 for topping her off.

But she's still purty with my surfboards on top, tires deflated and the beach under the tires.
