Top off

Ok guys. Gonna take off my 79 top for the first time tomorro.

any last minute tips?

best way to store it? Probably will leave it off for 3 weeks.

Do you have help or doing it alone?

Usually we have two of us, we put cardboard down and stand it on end, leaning it against the garage wall inside.

Always thought building a hoist for it in the garage would be really nice.

When we have left them outside they always get so dirty. Bugs, dirt. Takes a lot of work to get them cleaned up again.

Have never taken the topper off my 79. Thought about it. The previous owner of the 78 did take the topper off and lost several of the bolts and knocked the Unuts off. Then the idiot drilled new holes to trying to secure it down.

Make sure NOT to crush the foam rubber seals that stick down to seal the top of the tailgate! I watched friends put the top on the ground and destroy those!
