Hi All:

First off I know what is causing it, I just need to know why.

It is the stupid fuel pump relay under the hood. I've had to replace it before, I think this will make the 4th time in 6 years twice in the last year.

What would cause the dang thing to go bad?

The info about the beast is in my tag

Thanks

Darrin

Seabronc: If memory serves me right, I think it is the contacts that go bad,

Lt.: I replaced the pump back in around 2000, it seems to be fine, it makes noise and she doesn't seem to be starving for fuel in fact when she is running it kinda sounds like she is firing wet. No funky smells or smoke or any other signs of running too rich tho. My fuel gauge is working correctly so I'm not thinking it is a bad ground.

did you buy Bosch relays?..they are da best, some other aftermarket relays are junk....just get terminal ends to wire it up; use diagram on relay or instr.
