Tailgate wont open

Hey, my 89 broncos tailgate quit opening as if the handle came disconnected. It was working and opening fine one day and the next it just wouldn't open. I looked at the handle and followed it back to the latches and it appears to work just fine. the handle pulls both latch rods which open the latches.....is there something I'm missing?

Did you try pulling on the bars by hand, you may have to pull pretty hard. Sounds like you may have a stuck latch. Also, it may be helpful to have someone push in on the side of the gate for the bar you are pulling.

Hey thanks, it was a stuck latch. the left one was working fine but the right one jammed up. A little WD-40 and its working just fine.
