Hey guys I’m new to bronco zone and have been working on restoring my 95. I’m about to replace the rear bumper and the tailgate but noticed that when I lower my tailgate all the way and then lift it back up, the body raises in the back a bit. Not sure if it has anything to do with shocks it if it’s cause my bumper is bent upwards a bit but any help with figuring out the problem could help and I’d greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is the tailgate hitting the bumper? Or what is it touching to lift the truck?

Check your body mounts, there are two right at the back.

Also the cross brace, which I think is listed brand new in the parts section, tend to rust out. I have seen quite a few breaks in the body where the outside quarters attach to that piece that runs across the back. Usually they don't just brake, there is rust involed. It can be welded and repaired fairly simply.

Are you referring to the rear cross sill? My body mounts are new but the rear cross sill is rusted out and didn’t know if that affected it or not

Yes the rear cross sill will allow the quarter panels to sag. The tailgate pivots, mounts to the quarter panels.

Lovely so now I gotta replace that before anything else. Would you happen to know where I could get a replacement or something that can be used as a fabrication to fix it?

that's a place (among many) or some scabs (scrab parches from the metal pile in the corner of the garage). Some usea mig, even if putting in the above...2x4s, jacks, levels and straight edges are all needed no matter the method. U don't hafta B a 'bodyman' but it helps, LOL.
I have the '66 and over time the heavy top pushed on the bed rails and broke the piece. It's only 4, 5 feet to the nxt body mounts so I hada loose them as well to pry up, clean out, insert - w/o bending things all outta shape to get good results...
