Hey guys
i have my 79 rear tire carrier on the truck, but I do not know what order I put the tire in and bolt it down. Is there an easy install direction book or video on how to use it for the first time? I currently do not have a tire on the rack.

I have the parts….I think. I just don’t know the order to put the tire on the back hook, and then what are the steps? Surprised there are no videos for this. It seems simple, I just don’t know what good looks like.

Crazy how confusing it can be. I didn't have that era so not sure, but are you running a stock size spare or oversize?
A larger spare will really ***** with ya.

But it is just a combination of hanging the tire and seeing what holes line up.

yes, plez back up a lill, start B4 the beginning. Remote diagnosis is difficult, even more so w/o pic.
Is the caring rack on the car? Is it custom/after marker/oem?

Usually one simply lifts the wheel/tire combo onto the rack, using the center "stud" to hold it. On Tiha's bottom pic U have the bottom assembly (@ his index finger, off, the threaded prt remaining behind on the rack. U place the big center hole of the wheel over the center slightly curved piece (curve matches curve of inner BIG hole in wheel. Then U slide the prt w/ his lock over the threaded piece & start spinning to tighten. The flat circular piece stays w/the 'box' to cover the wheel hole. Tighten so the wheels rim sits on the "L" shaped (rubber bumper) at the top. Crank down hard so as to not loosen as driving. Check periodically to assure U dont loose it. Lock is good so two lagged animals cant remove & carry off. (Back me up guys - or fergedboudid as she/he has not been back in 3 wks~

Both my 78,s has inside mounts. . Alot less hassel of lifting a tire on and putting the bolts to hold it on and less worry about someone stealing the spare.
