Possible Computer Problems With '90

I have a '90 Ford Bronco II XL with 2.9L V6, automatic transmission and 4x4. After a bit of mudding, we washed it off and parked it, and I left for a week or two. When I returned the vehicle wouldn't start. It would crank with either, but cut off as soon as you stop spraying either. My freind thought the first thing we should do was check the fuel pump. We droped the fuel tank and found the fuel pump to be fine. While testing we noticed the fuel relay wasn't clicking, so we reinstalled the fuel tank and after trying a new relay to no avail, we jumpered the relay. The fuel pump came on but the relays wouldn't pulse. We figured it was probably the computer or wireing related to the computer. My freind suggested it might be cheaper in the long run to have diagnostics run on it at a shop. Well, that was a $60 mistake. They insisted it must be the ignition module. We checked the module and it was fine.

My next step is to recheck wires, check fuses(hmm, seem we leave the easy stuff for last) maybe put my test light to the computer it self. If none of that produces results, I'll drop $100 on a new computer and pray it works. I'm writing in case any of y'all know of any known problems or other stuff I should check before potentially wasting $100. The rig is barely worth $100. (especially not running)

check your inline fuse links. I'm not sure where there found on the bII's. but on fullsizes they are found in the wiring from the pass. side fender well. they will look like a big bulge in the wires. check a shop manual to see where they are found on your truck.
