Yo Fozz,
Welcome and congrats on your outstanding acquisition!
Here's the 1973 Ford Bronco (Brochure) @ https://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/ford/73br/73br.html
&
"The Explorer Special package was a seasonal option group that was similar to the Ranger trim. It came in Grabber Blue or Burnt Orange, with matching “random stripe” pattern cloth seats. It also featured an “Explorer” badge on the glovebox plus a unique “Explorer” spare tire cover. 1975 was the last model year that the Explorer Special package was available on the first-gen Bronco.

The Bronco Explorer is very rare since it was only released in the springtime as a way to sell more trucks. With only cosmetic features to differentiate it, it can be difficult to tell if one is authentic today at first glance. Looking at the unique cloth pattern in the seats is a better way to authenticate one. Some owners choose to dress up their base Broncos as Explorers.

How interesting! So would all Explorers have the Ranger STD Trim as base? Or was it a base model with the paint and upholster?

I use std's for another idea. Some can get quite obsessive (see roadster u13'n some CB wing nuts). Stuff like this maters when goin for concourse points...
what do U mean by std:?
