Was out 4x4ing, the road we (buddy was in his 82 k5 blazer) were on went from ok to impassable through one turn going down hill, to get back up the hill, we got into the sage brush and climbed back up to the top, got to the top and realized the 4x4 light went out and the speedo no longer worked, checked the fuse its good, checked the wires under the cab going to the transmission and they all were ripped out the vss plug is still there (on the diff) so im a little bit confused as to why the speedo stopped working, but on a side note the power surge ive been trying to get figured out stopped, during part throttle acceleration its would stumble and miss until you went to wot and then backed off, ive gone through all the threads and read it could be timing, egr, coil, ignition, and or grounds, checked all those several times, and could never find anything wrong, most have already been changed, the only part not replaced within the last 2 years is the icm and pcm but they test good

Any help on the wiring for the xfer case(4x4 light) and reverse lights (the switch on the transmission) would be much appreciated, thanks a bunch in advance

You can unplug the wire off the reverse sending unit --and check to see if its getting power. You will have to have the switch on to check it. and make sure the wheels is chaulked or emergecy brake is set. Before you crawl under it..I

Driving through brush, muddy water and mud cause,s more problems and cost alot of money . Don,t do it and you,ll have less problems.
