    Bushing for Spare Tire Carrier

I can only state what I have experienced with oils, and Amsoil is the best I have found, and I have tried most of them, including Mobil 1 in all my vehicles. A Nissan Platinum, Chevy 2500HD, 8.1 motor, and my 96 Bronco. The differential oils make for less noise, and the motor oils run more...

    Bushing for Spare Tire Carrier

My Energy bushing did not have the split, and I cut the split in bushing, and installed on the rod with the small *** that holds the bushing in position, and it works like a charm. I think the split was just enough play for the latching to be perfect. Yep, it acts like a buffer when closing the...

    Bushing for Spare Tire Carrier

I just got a message from Energ Susp, and they said it was split. My bad, as it looks like it has not split in it; however, I will have to relook in morning. It makes sense to be split, I just did not see the split as it is so tight. The idea of using tape to go around the rod was a good one...

    Bushing for Spare Tire Carrier

My original bushing has crumbled since 96, and I purchased a new one that is in a complete circle, and I just wonder if the only way to go in is to split the energy bushing?

    Bushing for Spare Tire Carrier

Did you have to split the bushing to go around the top post on tire carrier?

    Rear Tire Carrier

I have to slightly lift my tire up when closing in order to prevent difficulty in closing. I don't like to force the closing due to damaging the fittings. The rotting of rubber piece and falling off, caused my 96 to be difficult to close without lifting up bottom of tire, and it closes fine. I...

    Bushing for Spare Tire Carrier

Pictures are beyond my pc -- It is just to the side of the catch of carrier going into the rear of Bronco to latch. You can Google a schematic of 96 spare tire carrier, and you will see.

    Spare tire holder bump stop.

I would think again of using a pipe wrench to try and bend the steel while still attached to the truck. I would take to a body shop, and have them bend the steel piece closer to the rear body of Bronco, as my truck has the bump stop meeting the rear exactly when closed--just touching.. The...

    Bushing for Spare Tire Carrier

It looks like the one on my 96 that just broke into pieces. It goes on the horizontal bar to the attachment piece of center of tire carrier, that when you close the tire to attachment of body of rear Bronco, it acts like a shock absorber when closed. It is right where the metal attachment on...

How to disable abs on 96 BRONCO

I am trying to disable the ABS on my 96 Bronco, as I have had situations whereby the Bronco locked up wheels, and I know the pro/cons of disabling; however, I have lived thru the ages of no ABS, and I prefer none. I see there is the #2 fuse, and #8 fuse, as well as the ABS relay under the hood...

Looking for a front wheel bearing retaining ring

I have the same vehicle that had auto hubs----Throw them away, and get the Warn, locking hubs, and don't look back. You can travel with the hubs locked, for reasonable distance, in case of weather trouble. The auto hubs that came with my 96 would slip all the time. Go Warn!!

Help with 96 Bronco starter relay

Ok, I think I have it in my old mind now. The original wire to left terminal is only one trigger wire, and I was thinking it has another to starter. I see it now, and the larger wire to starter has to be hot from relay side. The larger wire from relay, goes to top starter post on starter. The...

Help with 96 Bronco starter relay

Yes, that is how mine is set up. I took to local mechanic, and was told I have it wired correctly now, as the 2 gauge- wire has to go from same + post as the battery is on. I don't understand why when I place the larger wire on top of the original oem , left side terminal, the vehicle tries...

Help with 96 Bronco starter relay

This is the exact way my 96 is set up. I only ran a 2 gauge wire over e ach factory wire to improve system. I did run a wire from relay to alternator, on right side of relay from battery. When I applied the 2 wire to the other side (to starter), it cranks.. I had to remove from the starter...
