I couldn't find an answer so I hope someone can.
I have 2 ports on the base plate, one small, the other large. The large goes to PVC valve.
I have 2 ports on the throttle body, one small, the other large. The large with a big blue rubber vacuum cap.
Where does the vacuum advance line go?
Like the title says... what size power valves are you using in your 4180C E4TE-9510-ARA LIST-50174 Carburetors?
I'd like to get a range of what's being used.
Thanks!
Hi all,
The original crankshaft pulley is 4 bolt 3 v-groove with 8" diameter. I just received a new pulley that is 5 3/8" diameter. I'll have to send it back... it will effect the alternative charge, power steering, and water temp IMO.
I took the wire brushes to the original crankshaft pulley...
Hi all,
My bronco has always made a screeching sound when it starts. It’s similar to what it sounds like when power steering fluid is low and I turn the wheel left or right. After the engine warms up it will still screech when I step on the accelerator or use the throttle at the carb. All...
Hello,
This summer I clean up the engine bay and pulled the distributor. I did mark the position and photographed it so I could drop it back in. When I was ready to start the engine again, I dropped the distributor back in same position and couldn't get it to start and ruined a starter. I...
I'm looking for the exact part number or picture of exact exhaust heat shroud for 1984 Bronco XLT 351W 4V 5.8L engine. This provides hot air through a 2" tube to the air intake snorkel.
I think it is EOSZ-9A603-A but not sure. I've made one out of 1/16" aluminum 14" long by 3.25" and a 2"...

I'm rebuilding a E5TE-9510-ABA LIST-50174-1 Holley for Motorcraft 4180C. The primary jets are stamped 309. Could be original to the carburetor.
Does anyone know what size this references? If not, what is the stock size jets for this...
For those who have this engine/carburetor, what power valve have you installed?
I've just discovered that the power valve I installed is a 45, which is what you get in the holley 3-1346 rebuild kit. I never did measure the vacuum at idle, in drive to get vacuum in inches and divide by two...
I noticed a cap missing on one of the Vapor canisters (there are 2 in my truck) and I got to thinking, do they ever need to be replaced? The Chilton''s manual 1976-86 ford pickups and bronco repair manual, page 4-12 fig. 11, shows two, 2 port canisters with an abbreviated part number 9C985. This...
351W 4V HO 4180C carb
Having a problem with the Bronco. When I press the gas pedal, it the carb bogs down. Can’t drive down the road without pumping the pedal to keep moving. It does start and idle okay. Has new cats, dist, rotor, wires, plugs. The carb is a rebuild from RockAuto. I put on a...
1984 Bronco XLT 351W 4V H.O.
I'd like to wire up an air-fuel ratio gauge. To do that, I need to find the O2 sensor location to read the signal. I have 12v key-on fused source and ground connections.
This truck uses Duraspark Ignition control module with blue tab. I've checked the manifolds and...

Is there a diagnostic OBD test connector for this truck? I have a Innova 3145 Ford Digital code reader.
I've done some looking around but I can't locate it. So, my questions are...
Is there a diagnostic test port? If so, where is it and what's it look...
1984 Ford Bronco XLT 5.8L 351 Windsor.
I'm at the end of my rebuild. I replaced the automatic transmission because the driver side bell housing bolts and guide pin had been cracked and alignment would be out causing the flexplate to warp and fracture and could cause other damage to the engine...
I've spent the last 2 months completely rebuilding my 84' XLT in my redneck garage (next to my house in the shade ALL day). The old engine was weary and engine compartment oily and grimy. It has new cab mounts, all new body mounts with frame savers, floor pans, rocker panel, and a rear cross...
