    A/C Surging

I've found 2 common causes of this problem. One is the white line that hooks to the vacuum motor mounted on the fender well under the right rear corner of the hood. The line deteriorates and leaks. Follow it as far back as it takes to find it to be in good condition and replace it from there...

    The inevitable

Hitting a mud hole in 2H, stopping and shifting to 4L is a recipe for getting stuck. In addition to learning to not go alone, learning to be in 4wd is a good lesson too.

    Wheel color

I bought a two tone blue 78 with the spoke wheels brand new. Same colors as the one in your picture but not the Victoria two-tone...just the basic. The wheels were the same color as the white in the middle.

78-79 Clutch linkage, 4 speed, and 390 Engine question

I was curious myself so I dug around a little. It apparently was used by Ford from 66-76 in light duty F100 4x4s with the New Process transmission. There was no neutral position. Here's what the **** looked like. ...apparently you can't use the word "kn0b" here. hehe

78-79 Clutch linkage, 4 speed, and 390 Engine question

It was a Dana 21 single speed. If I'm not mistaken it was only used in the F100s with the NP435 trans. I guess they assumed since you had the granny low in the transmission you didn't need the low range. and thanks for the welcome...I've actually lurked (and learned) quite a bit here but am...

78-79 Clutch linkage, 4 speed, and 390 Engine question

If it's a 4 speed I'm thinking it will have a single speed transfer case. My 75 F100, 390 NP 4-speed did. Also...I read somewhere (and kinda scratched my head) that the same bellhousing will fit the 400M, 429 and 460. Is this true?

78-79 Clutch linkage, 4 speed, and 390 Engine question

    460 is not an FE. It's a 385 motor like the 429.

    ‘79 400 Engine swap

I've had 9 full size Broncos in my life and I wish they all had the 400 that was in my 78.

WHAT DID I DO???? Was running great...94 Eddie Bauer 5.0

If I'm not mistaken there has always been some confusion about which one was right for certain 94 models....mostly pertaining to the time of year it was built. Mine is a May 94 and the first one I got was incorrect. It's been several years but it seems like it would start in the other gears...

High End Professional Restoration of '92 Bronco (Los Angeles area)

To each, his own...but I can't say as I'm a fan of the Raptor-ization of a Bronco. The short body needs straight lines, IMO. Bulges just look weird. Nice work everywhere else and very cool color though.

Need urgent advice timing an 84 351W... There is something strange going on

Shouldn't Zero be in line with the timing pointer when #1 is at TDC? Then while it's running you adjust it to the 10degree mark you made?

New tires. Lettering out or in?

Personal preference of course, but I have the letters out on my 94 Bronco but in on my 2013 F150 because that's kinda period correct for each vehicle. Plus...15" wheels and 33" tires have a lot of sidewall showing to be all black, IMO. It would also depend on how big and how tasteful (or...

I'm embarrassed that I don't know the answer to this question.

Many thanks, guys. Lots of good info there.

I'm embarrassed that I don't know the answer to this question.

Would an 80 Bronco with a 302 have a carburetor or some sort of injection or otherwise electronic control? I've owned F150s and various Broncos since the mid 70s but have never owned anything between the years 80-86 except an 84 Mark VII...and it had some electronic gizmo. Also...how much...

    1996 ford bronco wont run

My 94 didn't die on me but I went out and it wouldn't start after having been driven to that spot and parked just hours earlier. Everything tested ok. Hauled it to town. Coolant temp sensor. I'd never heard of such a thing. They said it was giving such a wacky reading that the computer...

    Painting Bronco top

Don't laugh....1/2 Boiled Linseed Oil & 1/2 paint thinner. Not lacquer thinner...just cheap paint thinner. Wipe it on with a soft cloth then wipe the excess off after an hour or so. You will be amazed. Also great on ATV or UTV plastics.

Towing a Bronco with a Bronco

I wouldn't tow an automatic with rear wheels on the ground unless the transfer case was in neutral (short distance) or better yet...the rear driveshaft was removed. It's really easy to remove and then there's nothing to worry about.

    Can I play too?

Long time FoMoCo guy and Bronco lover. I'm on my 5th full size. A 96 5.8l with about 125,000 mi.. I bought it at a county government auction. It had road oil inside and out, but otherwise seemed to have had decent maintenance. Everything on it worked...including cold A/C. Pretty much all...
