3.50 ring and pinion vs 3.55 ring and pinion

The reality is that the ratios are the same for a 3.50 vs 3.54, but I think they number them differently to avoid mix up on part numbers. My rig has gears that were sold as 4.09 ratio D44 front and a 4.11 ratio 9” rear. There are only so many teeth on the ring gear and pinion gear, not an...

    9 inch rear end swap

I have done this swap, but on my 87 where it was nearly bolt in. 1995 bronco, 2017 5.0

Good looking rig except for the cancer. My 1996 Sport suffered the same fate in Massachusetts. I wish I‘d had my 1996 Sport in AZ and it didn’t rot away. My 87 is rust free, but has some rock rash from proper off-roading.

They are available in the junk yards near me regularly, I think they were in trucks until 1993ish. I don’t know when they went from carb to...

    4x4 engagement

Next step is to get rid of those hat style hubs only found on the 87-88 models by replacing knuckles out with 89+ parts. A good time to do this is when you need ball joints anyway.
