Thanks. I'll check it out.
How many freeze plugs does a block have? I've looked through my Chiltons and it doesn't even mention them.
As far as me just putting water in it, that was just going to be like for the evening until I could take a trip to town and get antifreeze. Glad I didn't pour...
Ok... so I haven't really had time or money to piddle around with the Bronco since before Christmas (which was also when I had back surgery... main reason for not messing with it)
Today I put a new battery cable on it and put a new bolt in the power steering pump to hold it tight, put some gas...
I'm back... kind of.
Had the back surgery early in December, now I'm just healing up. Turns out the disc was completely collapsed. No wonder I was in pain!!
Still can't wait to really tear into the Bronco and get it runnin'.
It will be a while before I can do that due to healing times and...
Thanks. At least I'll have a well medicated Christmas.. :P /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
Oh, and I'm not worried about noise in the radio... there isn't one! LOL
Boy I feel stupid now.. LOL
Yeah.. truck is running like CRAP now... haven't had the money or time to work on it much, and when I was just starting it the other day to keep everything internal running, I broke the wire.
I haven't completely fixed the ground issue either, so I wasn't sure if me...
So the ignition coil I had on my truck had a single wire that led up to what appeared to be a resistor or something mounted on top of the coil... the wire broke, so I just removed it. Now with all the problems this engine has in the first place, I can't tell if something else has gone wrong or...
Just a question right now... but several people have mentioned that it might be easier to get a new wiring harness than chasing down all the little problems with my Bronco's electrical problems
Where do I get a harness and what do I look for? How hard are they to install? How do I get one that...
yeah, I will.. its pretty oily down there so I guess it could be interfering with the ground.
I might do that this weekend, put it up on jack stands and try to clean all the gunk off as best as I can and redo all the connections.
Y'all are right. It is a grounding problem... still haven't identified WHICH ground, but it is a ground. I found this out when I was tightening up the (-) on the battery and my ratchet hit the fender. I had the jumper wire 'attached' to the small terminal and the (+) post so I could get a...
Oh, I bet all that stuff will start to work like you say.
I just found it odd that they all of a sudden started to do something in the middle of the night like that.
Maybe its possessed... LOL
Yep, and I appreciate the help. I do get sidetracked easily so a methodical approach is good.
On a related note, I had turned the emergency flashers on yesterday afternoon (before the chat) to see if when I wiggled a wire or something they would come on... forgot to turn them off, because they...
Ok. I took a piece of wire and put it between the battery + and the small terminal on the solenoid. Nothing... no click.. nothing.
Thought I might have misread the post, so I lightly tapped the battery - and the small terminal.. the solenoid clicked. Thats it.
Still no lights, nothing. I never...
