Hey folks,

Anybody know if a rear seat from a 92-96 will fit in the 1981 year?

The ONLY bronco in any of my local junkyards is much newer than my 81 who is missing her rear seat.

If so, Will it snap right in to my existing brackets or would i need hardware as well from the 92-96?

Thanks!

They are valuable .... and no aftermarket support. If you find one grab it.

I pulled my rear spare tire carrier off about 7 years ago ... and tossed it in the trash.

Now they are going for a few hundred bucks.

It is a risk ... because you can get a third row seat from a suburban that has seat belt mounts built in the back of the seat.... this allows the top to be taken off and still have rear seat belts.

That is the route I would go.

Interesting.

My top doesn't have seatbelts mounted on it, nor any holes in the floor for rear seatbelts. I have a 2-bolt bracket with a spring attached both port and starboard side on the floor next to the roll bar flanges and the square plastic "dish" with a bar bolting it down in the center of the bed.

I can post photos after work if this sounds like a unique setup that im not describing well.

Im all for the chevy seat upgrade. What year of suburban seat is compatible? 2nd or 3rd row seat? Will that seat snap into the ford mounts or will i need the chevy brackets? Also, will the tahoe models work as well?

Thanks Paul!

You can get a little creative with seats. They might not be a direct bolt on .... but fabricating a mount it's that hard. You can just get some wood ... no welding required. This is what your looking for ... with the seat belts built into the seat.

For the OBS Broncos the top rear seat belt bolt is on the fiberglass top. When the top is removed you loose the rear seat .. and third brake light.
