92 Bronco F250 Chassis and 5.9L Cummins Diesel Engine Swap - Documented build thread

I am so excited! I picked up the custom aluminum fuel tank from the welding shop! It should hold somewhere between 34-37 gallons. It is designed to fit between the frame rails behind the rear axle. The "wings" on each side will bolt to the frame rails. We used gussets to strengthen the mounting...

Thanks! Not sure...waiting on LCD screens from China...probably about 4-6 weeks! Making a few minor changes to the gauges but they're definitely getting close!!

92 Bronco F250 Chassis and 5.9L Cummins Diesel Engine Swap - Documented build thread

Hey guys! Just wanted to quickly share a couple of things. 1) A couple of pics of the new tires and wheels I've chosen. They are Extreme Force 22x12s wrapped in 37x12.50/22 Nitto Ridge Grappler rubber. 2) As mentioned previously, I am having a complete custom air ride suspension fabricated by...

I plan to use the basic 6 gauges you'd find on pretty much any vehicle (speed, rpm, fuel level, water temp, voltmeter, and oil pressure) then we're adding boost, exhaust gas temp, and trans temp. I'll definitely keep you posted as the build progresses!

There will be 3 unique screens and we'll have 8 or 9 total gauges. Check out www.theonegauge.com/themes and see the "retro theme" for an idea of the directionI'mheading. Since my project is not on the fast track and I'm looking for something 150% custom, probably take about 1 month or so....he...

I am using a company called TheOneGauge.com. They are custom building a complete LCD Digital Instrument Panel to fit into the original space in my dash. I am attaching a couple mockup pics. After he gets the screens built, he is going to create a bezel to make everything seamless....

92 Bronco F250 Chassis and 5.9L Cummins Diesel Engine Swap - Documented build thread

Well, it’s been a couple of weeks since my last update. Rarely do these big projects go in a “linear” manner. So, I have been working on ironing some things out for down the road. I’ve found a company that will custom build LCD digital gauges for me (TheOneGauge.com) and sent them my old cluster...

92 Bronco F250 Chassis and 5.9L Cummins Diesel Engine Swap - Documented build thread

The time had come to set the 2010 F250 frame aside and get started on the next part of the project - pulling the '97 Dodge 2500 into my garage so I could get access to what will eventually be the beating heart of my dream project....the 5.9L Cummins! During my time off for Christmas, my son and...

92 Bronco F250 Chassis and 5.9L Cummins Diesel Engine Swap - Documented build thread

Now it was time to make the cuts....the point of no return. I was about to cut 51+ inches out of a perfectly good chassis! In all my years of tooling around and wrenching, I have never done anything remotely close to this complicated. If you zoom in on the pics, you might see its not...

92 Bronco F250 Chassis and 5.9L Cummins Diesel Engine Swap - Documented build thread

The F250 chassis was a crew cab long bed and had a 156+ inch wheelbase. This created a problem because, after a lot of researching and measuring, I finally got the correct wheelbase for the Bronco - 104 11/16". I've been watching every car TV show made anywhere in the world for the past 30+...

92 Bronco F250 Chassis and 5.9L Cummins Diesel Engine Swap - Documented build thread

Now for the chassis. I wanted something a little more modern. 4x4 was a must. I wanted 4 wheel disc brakes. I was shopping on Facebook marketplace and came across a complete 2010 F250 4x4 chassis. According to the owner, it had been involved in a rollover and he had disassembled it little by...

92 Bronco F250 Chassis and 5.9L Cummins Diesel Engine Swap - Documented build thread

I went through a lot of researching, planning, and shopping before I decided I wanted to make a big investment in time and money to get the truck where I wanted. Several months ago, before the Bronco ever came into my thought process, I was shopping for a diesel for a different project and I...
