anybody out there know where i can find an accelerator cable for a '66 six cylinder bronco? i've checked out

the usual parts sites and done alot of searching on the web. i would also like to find a drawing of the correct

position of the cable even if it is hand drawn!!! i've looked at old mustang and falcon setups, but they all have mechanical (hard) linkages. the cable that is on my bronco now is to short to lay in the bracket that secures it in place.

Try www.macsautoparts.com they have a 20" cable or www.lmctruck.com they have cables for newer Broncos. Give them a call they might be able to hook you up

Also you can check the cable on a six cylinder Maverick or Comet. They are pretty long.

You can find the cable at Obsolete Parts Company out of Nashville, GA. The original for part number is 9A758. I just ordered one yesterday. http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~partsort

Check out this schematic for the placement. http://broncograveyard.com/dia/6/engdiagaspedal6cyl.jpg

Thanks for the suggestion. The specific part number I believe is C5TZ-9A758-AH for the 20 inch Ford accelerator cable. This was used across many Ford trucks. Problem is noone can find it! ugh.

Apparantly about a year ago someone unearthed a huge quantity of original Ford 20 inch C5TZ-9A758-AH accelerator cables. Everyone from Dennis Carpenter to every other old ford parts guy listed the part. They all seem to be out now. I did see one on ebay but it was used and looks to be in pretty poor shape. ugh. thanks for the tip.
